Refund and Cancellation Policy

This policy explains when a payment made through the Ganesh Chaturthi 2026 pages can be refunded.

Contributions

Contributions towards pooja items, the poojari, flowers, prasadam and general festival expenses are voluntary donations and are non-refundable once made. The committee commits this money to suppliers and arrangements straight away, which is why it cannot be returned.

The exceptions in "Where we will always refund" below still apply. If we took your money in error, we will return it whether or not it was a contribution.

Pooja slot bookings

If you need to cancel a booked pooja slot, please tell the committee as early as you can, so that the slot can be offered to another family.

Refunds on cancelled slot bookings are considered individually by the organising committee. Whether a refund is made depends on how much notice was given, whether the slot could be reallocated, and whether costs had already been incurred for it. The committee's decision is final, and we will tell you the outcome within 3 working days of your request.

Free idols

Idols are given away free of charge and no payment is taken for them, so there is nothing to refund. If you have claimed an idol and can no longer collect it, please tell the committee so that it can go to the next family on the waiting list.

Where we will always refund

We will refund you in full, without your having to ask, in these situations:

• Your money was taken but no booking or contribution was recorded against it.
• You were charged twice for the same booking or contribution.
• Two families paid for the same exclusive slot and yours could not be allotted.
• The committee cancels or is unable to hold an event you paid for.

How refunds are made

Refunds are made to the same payment method used for the original payment. We raise the refund within 3 working days of approving it. Once raised, the amount typically reaches your account within 5 to 7 working days, depending on your bank.

How to request a refund

Contact the committee using the details on our contact page. Please include your name, flat number, the amount, and the date of the payment. It helps if you can also give the transaction reference shown on your receipt.
